Connect the device to power via USB-C. The device will start up automatically.

If you take no action, the device will show random quips only, along with a QR code. Scanning the QR code will load app.brickquips.com.

If you choose to configure the device, visit app.brickquips.com and connect via Bluetooth.

1. Open app.brickquips.com in your device browser.
2. Enable Bluetooth access if prompted.
3. Press the "Bluetooth Discovery" button.
4. Select your Brick Quips device from the list — it will have a name like BrickQuip-AAAA.

If your desktop computer has Bluetooth, you can connect via your desktop browser.

1. Open app.brickquips.com via Chrome, Edge, or Opera.
2. Enable Bluetooth access if prompted.
3. Press the "Bluetooth Discovery" button.
4. Select your Brick Quips device from the list — it will have a name like BrickQuip-AAAA.

Apple browsers do not support Bluetooth. To connect via iOS, use the free Brick Quips app.

1. Download the Brick Quips app from the Apple App Store:
   
2. Open the Brick Quips app.
3. Enable Bluetooth access if prompted.
4. Select your Brick Quips device from the list — it will have a name like BrickQuip-AAAA.

Once connected you will see the main Brick Quips configuration screen. From here you can:

• Tap a text area to change the text of a quip, including adding emoji.
• Remove quips you no longer want.
• Add a quip with the placeholder $time to insert the current time.
• Press "Save!" to push your changes to the device.

Press the menu button in the upper right to access Settings. Here you can:

• Control the time between quips by adjusting the rotation speed.
• Control how many random quips are shown — including lowering to 0 for no random quips.
• Adjust the screen with the display brightness slider.

To apply settings, press the "Close and Save" button, or press the menu button again.
